a walk through
Evora & Palmela
The city of Évora, in Alentejo, is world-renowned for its history. The Temple of Diana, a Roman ruin from the 1st century, the Cathedral of Évora and the Capela dos Ossos, in addition to its beautiful Historic Center, are the main attractions of the Alentejo city.
On the way back from Évora, our next destination is Palmela Castle, built in the 8th century and expanded in the 11th century. From this very well preserved castle, we have a beautiful view of the Serra da Arrábida, the Tróia Peninsula and, depending on the weather, greater Lisbon.
Option for this tour:
It is possible to exclude Palmela and visit a winery in Évora. We recommend the Black ribbon, a winery founded in 2004, a project by the Portuguese winemaker António Maçanita. The winery is located about 10 km from Évora and also features the Medieval Palace, a 14th-century building, one of the oldest in Évora. Tastings are available at an extra cost and can be paid directly at the winery. More information here
