a walk through
Óbidos & Sintra
This tour departs from Lisbon towards one of the most beautiful villages in Portugal: Óbidos. Conquered by the first king of Portugal, Afonso Henriques, in 1148, Óbidos boasts a remarkable architectural and artistic heritage with a castle, several churches, charming narrow streets, and many small shops selling handicrafts and the famous ginjinha – a typical liqueur of this area.
Óbidos was donated to Queen Isabel as a wedding gift from King Dinis, becoming part of the estate's assets. House of Queens until 1834. Throughout the year there are a series of events that mark the life of this village, such as the Chocolate Festival or the Christmas Fair.
In the afternoon we set off for Sintra, considered by some to be the most romantic town in Portugal. In 1995, the historic center of Sintra and the surrounding mountains were classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can visit stunning palaces, a Moorish castle, lush gardens, and verdant landscapes. You can also explore the historic center, which is small but very charming, and sample the typical sweets of this area: the Sintra cheese tarts and pillows, which are truly worth trying.
This tour lasts 9 hours, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with one hour for lunch. Minimum of 2 people. From 4 people the total price is €300. Entrance fees to monuments and meals not included. Full conditions here
