Tour of Lisbon: Alfama

One walking tour through the historic center of Lisbon carried out by two lovers of history and the Portuguese capital. We start at Praça dos Restorers and we continued through the downtown Lisbon area, passing churches, such as Santo Antônio, the Lisbon Cathedral and a burned-down church that was reopened almost as the fire left it. Furthermore, we walked through one of the most famous streets in Portugal, the Rua Augusta, until we reach Praça do Comércio (one of the largest in Europe) and reach the banks of the Tagus River at Cais das Colunas.

And how about seeing Lisbon from above? Let's go to the viewpoints of Santa Luzia It is Gates of the Sun from where we can see the Tagus River, the South Bank and much of one of the most charming neighborhoods in the world: Alfama. But we won't just spot it. There you will see the oldest house in the Portuguese capital and after appreciating it from above, we go down and delve into the typical, non-linear streets of Alfama. We will pass by another church, a Roman wall and behind the Lisbon Cathedral, the oldest church in the capital that survived several earthquakes and was rebuilt over the centuries.

The entire tour yields spectacular photos in settings with centuries of history.

This tour lasts 4 hours, from 9am to 1pm or from 2pm to 6pm. Minimum of 2 people and maximum of 10 people. Payment is made in cash at the start of the tour. Entrance fees to monuments and meals not included. The meeting point is outside the Hard Rock Café, in Praça dos Restauradores.

Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and is located in the center of the country, on the banks of the Tagus River and 17 km from the Atlantic. The city has a population of just over half a million inhabitants, but almost three million people live in the Lisbon Metropolitan Region.

There is no shortage of good reasons to visit Lisbon. One of the most vibrant and cosmopolitan European capitals, there is always something to see or do in Lisbon. There are many monuments to visit and the cultural offer is extensive.

If you like a city that has managed to maintain its history, its monuments and its cultural aspects, but which is at the same time a modern and cosmopolitan city, then Lisbon is the ideal destination.

The city of Lisbon has many hills and many cobblestone streets, famous worldwide. Good shoes are essential for navigating historic streets and neighborhoods. Lisbon's 'light' is considered one of the best in Europe.

High. Lisbon has a lot of ups and downs, lots of tight streets and lots of stairs. But there are many cafes to sit down, relax a little and regain strength for another stage. The walk through Belém is in a flat area and easier to walk, but we still recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
